Hosting a foreign exchange student changes lives.

"My Arkansas mom and dad made me feel like family. And my ACES local coordinator was always there to help. My memories of Arkansas are filled with joy. I have a new appreciation for America, and I can never thank my host family enough."

                - Lilly (former ACES student from Slovakia)

American Cultural Exchange Service (ACES) is looking for central Arkansas families which have a strong desire to share their heart, home and way of life with a visitor from another country so that he or she becomes a true member of the family for the duration of the program.

"For almost 15 years our family has hosted ACES students from around the world. They may arrive as strangers, but they go home as family. Many call, write, and even ask to come back to visit! We have traveled to some of their homes and they have in turn opened their doors to us as if to say "thank you."

         - Robert & Marina (Hot Springs, AR)
International Student Exchange Programs bring us all closer together.

Hosting an ACES exchange student not only allows foreign visitors the unique opportunity to become completely immersed in American society and culture, but also allows American families the learning experience of having a family member from another country for as long as a academic year.

Why become an Arkansas host family to an exchange student?

  • Experience a new culture and foreign language in your home.
  • Discover how a high school exchange student can bring your family closer together.
  • Expose new cultures and customs to your children.
  • Gain a new perspective on the United States and our own culture.
  • Develop a lasting friendship with a new "son" or "daughter."
  • Nuture a young person's development and watch them grow in confidence and knowledge.
